A number of women’s civil society organizations in the city of Kadugli, South Kordofan State, in Sudan carried out a protest at the intersection of the Grand Mosque Street and Hospital Street in the Kadugli, on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
The participating women held banners with phrases denouncing the ongoing war in Sudan in general between the SAF and the RSF on the one hand and the army and the popular movement led by Al-Hilu on the one hand in South Kordofan state.
They described the war in Sudan as absurd and destructive and that it left an estimated displacement of more than 70,000 people in South Kordofan alone, and the timing of the war disrupts the agricultural season and hinders the movement of farmers and Shepherds, in addition to preventing women from practicing their work, especially after the issuance of emergency orders and curfews.
They called for the need to stop the war and peaceful negotiations that lead to building a democratic state and helping those affected by the war.
